Groundwater Awareness Week will have SGMA theme
This year’s Groundwater Awareness Week events will focus on the 10th anniversary of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). The week will run March 10–16 with online events taking place Monday through Friday. They will include a webinar on the progress made under SGMA and how State-local partnerships and innovative projects are putting more water into the ground.

Water Seminar Series turns to disadvantaged communities
Sacramento State’s Water Seminar Series continues on Friday, March 15 with a webinar on safe drinking water for disadvantaged communities. The discussion will cover community water needs in California, California's Human Right to Water, and various State programs for improving water services for all.
Putting a socioeconomic value on urban stormwater
A report on The Socioeconomic Value of Urban Stormwater Capture has been released by the California Stormwater Quality Association. The report looks at four case studies to examine how stormwater capture can benefit community health, water quality, green space, wetlands, and recreation. The research was independently conducted by Ceto Consulting, who prepared the report.
WELL state conference set for next month in San Jose
The Water Education for Latino Leaders (WELL) will hold its annual state conference on March 15 and 16, in San Jose. The panel discussions will focus on creating an equitable and sustainable water future. WELL will begin the conference with a water tour on March 15.

Openscapes to be featured at next Data for Lunch event
The next Data for Lunch event sponsored by the California Water Data Coalition will feature a presentation by Openscapes. The webinar series offers information on innovative water-data-related projects. Openscapes is an approach that helps researchers conduct data-intensive science. The event will be Tuesday, March 19.
