State Parks and Tribe reach historic management agreement
California State Parks and the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians (Tribe) have reached a historic agreement to collaborate in the management of natural and cultural resources for State parks within the Tribe’s ancestral lands. The Tribe is a native sovereign nation of northern Los Angeles County. This is the 10th memorandum of understanding that State Parks has reached with a California Native American Tribe.

Delta Breeze newsletter dedicates an issue to open science
The latest edition of the Delta Science Program’s Delta Breeze newsletter is dedicated to discussion on open science. Core elements of open science, including transparency, accessibility, and equity, are explored in the newsletter. There is also information on how open science will be promoted in a forthcoming research proposal solicitation, and how previous investigators have promoted open science in their work.

Input sought on agricultural and forest resilience technologies
The California Energy Commission (CEC) will host an online workshop next week to get input on technologies that support healthy forests and resilient agriculture. The workshop on Tuesday, Dec. 12, will include discussion on climate-smart agricultural tools and technology for fire mitigation and suppression. The input is being gathered in anticipation of potential funding opportunities next year.
Report looks at a corporate role in water stewardship
The Pacific Institute has released a report on advancing water resilience in the Colorado River Basin. Pathways and Barriers to Corporate Water Stewardship in the Colorado River Basin looks at how corporations can play a key role through their operations and supply chains, and by co-funding projects. The report is part of a broader Pacific Institute effort to advance corporate water stewardship in the Colorado River Basin.
Next week's Data for Lunch will explore OpenET in the Delta
OpenET will be the topic for the next Data for Lunch event sponsored by the California Water Data Consortium. OpenET provides satellite-based estimates of the total amount of water that is transferred from the land surface to the atmosphere through the process of evapotranspiration (ET). The presentation will be Wednesday, Dec. 13. It will cover the story of how OpenET was adopted as the central platform for water reporting in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
