Workshop on Proposed Regulations for Electric Vehicle Charger Inventory, Utilization, and Reliability Reporting
The California Energy Commission (CEC) will host a staff workshop to discuss a staff proposal for new regulations requiring select operators of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to report the number, utilization, and reliability of charging stations to the CEC. The proposed regulations are presented in detail in a CEC Draft Staff Report docketed on September 26, 2023. In this workshop, CEC staff will present the proposed regulations to the public and seek feedback on the proposed regulations’ practicality and expected impact on the EV driver experience and state transportation electrification goals. A quorum of commissioners will not be in attendance, and no actions will be taken.
The public can participate in the workshop consistent with the attendance instructions below. The CEC aims to begin promptly at the start time posted and the end time is an estimate based on the proposed agenda. The workshop may end sooner or later than the posted end time.
