Delta History: the Clarksburg Exception
Class photos have an eternal charm, with their mix of children who are happy, grumpy, candid, posed, awkward, or indifferent (and inevitably at least one with wildly unkempt hair). This 1921 photo from Merritt School – now known as the 1883 Clarksburg Schoolhouse – is no different.
This story is part of the Delta Protection Commission's latest issue of the Delta Heritage Courier, along with the release of the 75th Anniversary edition of "Brentwood" by local historian Carol Jensen, and tons of events, exhibits, lectures and grant opportunities.
