Delta Protection Advisory Committee Meeting
TODAY, Tuesday, June 6 5 to 7 p.m.
The Delta Protection Advisory Committee (DPAC) meets tonight via Zoom. Included on the agenda is a discussion of levee funding led by Commission Executive Director Bruce Blodgett.

Almost anyone can help spot an invasive species, and the UC Cooperative Extension's lunchtime talks on Zoom can help:

Sidewalk Saturday in Rio Vista
Saturday, June 10 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Enjoy vendors, food and street music at Sidewalk Saturday on Main Street in Downtown Rio Vista. Bring your own chairs to enjoy live music on the Starlight Stage at 1 Main Street, with CZ & The Bon Vivants performing from 2 to 4:30 p.m. and the River Ratz performing from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

The Delta Independent Science Board meets. Agenda items include an open forum to help an upcoming foodwebs workshop and part of a seminar series on decision-making under deep uncertainty.
Crawdad Festival in Isleton
Saturday, June 17, and Sunday, June 18 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Main Street Isleton
The Crawdad Festival is back! The event draws upon the culture and cuisine of Louisiana with a French-Quarter feel and the sounds of zydeco, Cajun, blues, and Louisiana-based rock n' roll. There will be live entertainment, activities, tons of crawdads, an array of international food and desserts, adult beverages, a festive atmosphere and more!
Music, Food, Crafts and Performances at Oakley Juneteenth
Saturday, June 17 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Civic Center Plaza at 3231 Main St. will be the center of music, food, and community that make Juneteenth a day of joy and unity. This event will have 20+ vendors, food trucks, kids crafts, and music and dance performances on the stage.

Golf Cart and Bike Parade in Isleton at the Loopfest
Saturday, June 17 Parade at 11 a.m.
Enjoy a day on the Delta Loop with 2023 Loopfest! The Progressive Decorated Golf Cart & Bike Parade starts at 11 a.m. at the B&W Resort and progresses to Korth's Pirates Lair. Open house activities and events will be held at businesses on the Loop all day.
Father's Day Car Show in Antioch
Sunday, June 18 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Downtown Antioch will be filled with gorgeous cars, music, street vendors and plenty to drink and eat. Enter your own car, or just go to watch the show.
Trophies will be awarded in the following categories: Best In Show; Hot Rod, Classic Pre 1950; Classic After 1951; Low Rider; Sport; Truck; Peoples Choice.
Yolo Basin Foundation Bat Talks and Walks
Multiple tours continue through September
Learn about bats and watch a truly breathtaking flyout of Mexican free-tailed bats from under the Yolo Causeway for their nightly hunt. The bats emerge around sunset, creating a perfect backdrop for this natural phenomenon.
There will be four Bat Talks and Walks in June, 15 in July, 12 in August and 11 in September - plenty of opportunities to enjoy what you can't fully appreciate just driving by on the freeway.
Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) Weekly Report
There is currently a Harmful Algal Bloom caution on McLeod Lake in Stockton, at both the Joan Darrah Promenade and Morelli Park. People are advised to stay away from algae and scum in the water. Do NOT let pets go in the water, drink the water, or eat scum on the shore. Keep children away from algae. Do not eat shellfish from this waterbody.
