DWR offers initiative to help communities Be Well Prepared
DWR has released the Be Well Prepared initiative which provides tools and resources to communities that are dependent on groundwater. The initiative focuses on domestic well owners and residents that need help in preparing for the potential effects of climate-driven weather extremes. Information available through the initiative includes details on well maintenance and groundwater conditions.

$143 million in water projects heading to California communities
To help empower local communities and address the effects of climate change, DWR has awarded a total of $143.7 million to implement 115 projects throughout California. Working through the Integrated Regional Water Management program, the projects will support groundwater recharge, strengthen flood management, increase water conservation, and improve water quality. The list of projects is available on the DWR website.
Precipitation Enhancement RMS workshop set for June 8
On Thursday, June 8, the California Water Plan team will host a virtual workshop to get public input on the draft Precipitation Enhancement Resource Management Strategy (RMS) for California Water Plan Update 2023. The workshop will give local agencies, Tribes, non-governmental organizations, and the public an opportunity to review and provide comment on the content in the draft RMS. An agenda and draft for review will be sent to those who complete the registration form.

Platform for groundwater accounting to be discussed next week
A webcast on advancing the Groundwater Accounting Platform in California will be held Wednesday, May 31. The platform was originally developed in 2018 by Rosedale Rio Bravo Water Storage District and the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF). Now, under a partnership between the California Water Data Consortium and EDF, an effort is underway to expand the platform to new regions and to provide additional features.
RWA offering a virtual conversation with Delta watermaster
A chance to be part of a virtual conversation with new Delta Watermaster Jay Zeigler will be held Wednesday, June 7. The event is being put on by the Regional Water Authority. The Delta watermaster is responsible for administering water rights within the Delta and the Suisun Marsh. The independent State office reports to the State Water Resources Control Board and the Delta Stewardship Council
Draft Outdoors for All strategy released for public comment
The Newsom administration has released a draft strategy for providing more Californians with opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. The Outdoors for All initiative is a plan for government, public, and private partners to collectively build a movement that will achieve equitable outdoor access. The plan is intended to ensure that all Californians, regardless of their background or location, have access to the outdoors. Instructions for submitting comments on the draft strategy are available in this news release. Comments must be submitted by Monday, July 10.

Webinar series will turn attention to sustainable supply chains
Sustainable Conservation’s webinar series on Solutions in our Soil will continue Thursday, June 1, with a session on building sustainable supply chains. A panel of experts will explain how they are turning science into practice throughout the supply chain. They will also shed light on the importance of soil health practices.
