California watershed documentary screening set for Friday
A new documentary from The Chronicles Group, “California’s Watershed Healing,” will be screened this Friday, April 21, in Sacramento. The film showcases the efforts of local organizations and individuals who are making a significant difference in preserving California's watershed ecosystem. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities involved in the conservation natural resources. RSVPs are requested because seating is limited.
Using nature-based solutions to address climate change
The role of nature-based solutions and how they can help address climate change will be discussed during a webinar on Thursday, April 27. The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will host the discussion on restoring wetlands, planting trees in cities, and using cover crops to make communities more resilient to the effects of climate change. The event will include an opportunity for participants to ask questions.
EPA webinar will focus on water and environmental justice
On Wednesday, May 3, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is hosting a webcast on integrating environmental justice into watershed and water resource management. There will be information on work that is underway to promote that integration. Presentations will focus on specific projects as well as bigger-picture thinking.

Taking stock of California water situation following a wet season
Now that the state has experienced such a wet season, how does California make the most of it? The Public Policy Institute of California will try to provide some answers to that question during an online panel discussion on Thursday, April 27. The panelists will take stock of California’s situation as the state heads into spring when the snow melts and water demand increases.
Using California's 30x30 to help a national marine sanctuary
Aligning the management plan for the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary with California’s 30x30 initiative will be explored during an Ocean Protection Council webinar. On Friday, April 28, the presentation will examine how State and federal managers can work together to assess and address threats to biodiversity in national sanctuaries. The 30x30 initiative calls for conserving 30 percent of California’s coastal waters by 2030.

New water data tool being showcased during webinar next week
Development of the first stage of the Western States Water Data Access and Analysis Tool is complete and the results will be discussed during a webinar on Tuesday, April 25. The tool is designed to improve data visualization and streamline water data sharing for 18 western states. During the webinar, there will be a demonstration of the tool’s capabilities. The Internet of Water Coalition will conduct the webinar.
