 Apply to be our Information Officer
Application deadline extended to Friday, April 7
Interested in making a difference in the Delta? Join our team as an Information Officer. The Information Officer will support internal and external Commission communications, including supporting the Delta National Heritage Area and promoting the Delta as a tourism and recreation destination.
The application deadline is has been extended until April 7.
 Apply to Join the Delta Protection Advisory Committee
Nominations due by Friday, April 28
The Delta Protection Commission is soliciting nominations to serve on the Delta Protection Advisory Commission (DPAC). The DPAC is a 15-member committee that advises the Commission on policy areas and needs of the Delta as a place.
DPAC members serve three-year terms and may be re-elected. The DPAC generally meets every other month. Meetings may be held virtually or in-person at a location in the Delta.
The following five DPAC seats are available:
- Delta Tribe and other organizations
- Delta agriculture
- Delta recreation
- State agency
- Utilities
Current DPAC members in these seats may apply for re-election.
You may nominate yourself or another individual you believe would be interested in serving on the DPAC. To apply, send an email to dpc@delta.ca.gov or a letter to 2101 Stone Blvd., Suite 200, West Sacramento, 95691 with the following information:
- Your name and contact information (If you nominating someone else, include their information as well)
- Which DPAC seat you are applying for
- A brief description of your relationship to the Delta
- How your experience qualifies you or your nominee for the seat you are applying for
Nominations are due by Friday, April 28. The DPAC appointments will be made at the May 18 Delta Protection Commission meeting.

 Delta Protection Advisory Committee
Tuesday, April 4 5 PM (Corrected)
Virtual meeting only
The DPAC will meet virtually next Tuesday, April 4. The meeting will include election of new DPAC officers, a presentation on the Delta Signage Project, an update on the Delta National Heritage Area, and a discussion on funding for Delta levees. The meeting agenda will be posted by the end of the week. Members of the public are welcome to join and participate.
 Delta National Heritage Area Management Plan Advisory Committee Meeting
Thursday, April 6 3 PM to 5 PM

The Delta National Heritage Area Management Plan Advisory Committee (Delta NHA Advisory Committee) will meet virtually next Thursday, April 6. The meeting agenda includes dicussions on the NHA goals and objectives, Delta Signage Project, Management Plan Resource Inventory, and Interpretive Plan. Members of the public are welcome to join and participate.
 Delta Plan Interagency Implementation Committee Restoration Subcommittee Meeting
Wednesday, March 29 2 PM to 4 PM
Virtual meeting only
The Delta Plan Interagency Implementation Committee (DPIIC) Restoration Subcommittee will meet on March 29 to hear a summary of the Delta Restoration Forum, receive an overview of the Cutting the Green Tape initiative from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and discuss the Restoration Subcommittee work plan and progress.
 Delta Island Adaptations 3rd Public Workshop
Tuesday, April 25 4 PM to 6 PM
Virtual workshop only
The Delta Island Adaptations Project Team invites the public to discuss proposed land use scenarios for Bouldin Island developed in phase 2 of the project. Input from this workshop will be integrated into the planning process, in alignment with the project’s co-design framework.

East Contra Costa Historical Society Museum Opens for the Season

East Contra Costa Historical Society Museum 3890 Sellers Avenue, Brentwood 94513
The East Contra Costa Historical Society Museum opens for the season on Saturday, April 1. Docents will be available to lead tours through the house and grounds. Mistress Karlberg will give lessons in the Eden Plains Schoolhouse. All members of the family to enjoy local history!
The Museum will remain open on Saturdays and the third Sunday of each month through October.
 San Joaquin Asparagus Festival
Friday, April 14 to Sunday, April 16

Asparagus used to grow abundantly in San Joaquin County. Sadly, there are few asparagus growers left in the Delta. Celebrate the history of Delta agriculture as the San Joaquin Asparagus Festival. In addition to asparagus themed food there will be monster trucks, live entertainment, and more.
Brentwood Economic Development Grant Program
Applications due Monday, April 17
The City of Brentwood is accepting applications from organizations through the Economic Development Grant Program to provide small business support and marketing, local tourism and community based promotional events and projects that support the Brentwood community.

Learn about the Asian Pacific Spring Festival, prominent citizens of Courtland's Chinatown, and Ow Wing Fook, opera singer and revolutionary in the Delta, in the Spring 2023 volume of the Locke Foundation newsletter.
 Delta Through the Lens: Photography Exhibit

Californians have many ideas about what the Delta means to them. The Delta Through a Lens Exhibition invites you to share your unique perspective of the Delta and the East Bay Regional Parks. You can check out the exhibit from March 17 through April 2 at the Big Break Regional Shoreline Visitors Center.
 Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) Weekly Report
There are currently no HAB advisories in the Delta. This information may change after the release of this notice. To check for the most updated information including other alert levels in the Delta, visit the HAB Incident Reports Map.
