SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Department of Water Resources (DWR) will hold a media briefing at Oroville Field Division facilities at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 10 to discuss Oroville Dam operations prior to flood control releases from the Main Spillway beginning at noon. This will be the first use of the Main Spillway since April 2019.

Where: Oroville Field Division Administration Office | 460 Glen Drive, Oroville, CA 95966.
The briefing will also be livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube. A recording of the media briefing, including photo and video of Oroville Dam spillway releases will also be distributed to media. There will be a staging area set up for media to observe or record the release.
Media briefing open to credentialed media only. Credentialed media will be required to check in at the main entrance security kiosk. Valid identification will be required for all visitors. Please allow additional time for security approvals. Visitors are required to have a visitor pass always visible while inside the Field Division grounds.

Following the 10 a.m. media briefing, credentialed media are invited to observe Oroville Dam main spillway releases, which are anticipated to begin around 12 p.m., from a designated viewing spot along the Brad Freeman Trail.
