Updates made to water data act implementation journal
Updated information has been added to the Open and Transparent Water Data Act Implementation Journal. It offers a summary of data publication strategies and accomplishments, that have been achieved since the passage of Assembly Bill 1755: The Open and Transparent Water Data Act, in 2016. The journal also has links to useful water and ecological data resources.
Today's CWC agenda includes drought preparedness discussion
This morning’s meeting of the California Water Commission (CWC) will include a presentation from an expert panel on drought preparedness and response strategies. There will be information on protecting communities and wildlife during long-term droughts. The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m.; a webcast will be available. Additionally, CWC staff is acting as guest editor for a double issue of Water Resources IMPACT magazine. The current issue focuses on water scarcity issues and how they affect different sectors of California. The second issue, to be published next month, will look at drought response.

Webinar on redesigned water shortage tool set for Feb. 22
DWR has redesigned the Water Shortage Vulnerability Scoring and Tool to provide data and information on drought and water shortage risk assessment. The tool is designed to help with drought planning for small water suppliers and rural communities. A webinar to provide an overview and demonstration of the tool will be held Wednesday, Feb. 22.

Integrated pest management to be discussed at Modesto summit
The Integrated Pest Management and Navel Orangeworm Summit will be held Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Modesto Junior College. Presentations will share the latest research and information on the primary pests in the almond industry.
Guidelines released for multibenefit land repurposing grants
Agenda released for Water 101 Workshop, new tour added to list
The Water Education Foundation (WEF) has posted the agenda for its annual Water 101 Workshop. The workshop will be on Thursday, Feb. 23, and will include an overview of California’s water resources. The WEF has also added the Eastern Sierra to its 2023 water tour schedule. It will cover watersheds from Reno to Mono Lake and into the Mojave Desert. It is scheduled for Sept. 13–15.
