Three workshops set for drinking water grant guidelines
A series of three public workshops will be held next month to discuss the draft Expedited Drinking Water Grant Funding Program Guidelines developed by the State Water Resources Control Board. The program provides an expedited process for public agencies to obtain grants for high-priority projects. The workshops will be held on Feb. 6, in Riverside; on Feb. 7, in Sacramento; and on Feb. 8, in Visalia.
Tribal comment policy on California Water Commission agenda
The California Water Commission’s first meeting of the year will be Wednesday, Jan. 18, in Sacramento. In addition to electing a new chair and vice chair for 2023, commissioners will receive a staff presentation on a draft Tribal Representative Comment Policy for consideration and possible adoption. A webcast of the meeting will be available.
San Joaquin River Conservancy Board offers tours, workshop
The San Joaquin River Conservancy Board has announced a couple of tours and a workshop for this month. On Jan. 23 and 24, it will be offering tours of conservancy properties in the Fresno area. The tours will focus on current issues, including security and public safety concerns surrounding the properties. And then on Wednesday, Jan. 25, in Fresno, the board will host a public workshop on San Joaquin River Parkway security.

California Water Data Coalition publishes 2022 year in review
The California Water Data Coalition has published a year-in-review document, highlighting some of the coalition’s accomplishments during 2022. The coalition works to help California transitions to an open data future, including making sure it is done in a manner that provides consistency and flexibility across State and local agencies.
California Small Farm Conference to be online and in-person
Registration is open for the 35th annual California Small Farm Conference. It will run Feb. 26–March 3. The schedule features more than 50 online workshops and interactive forums, along with in-person events at several locations around California. The topics include technology, small business management, marketing, and regenerative agriculture. There will also be several presentations in Spanish on Wednesday, March 1.

CSU Monterey Bay to host annual water conference in April
Save the dates for the annual California State University Water Conference. It will be held April 13 and 14, at California State University (CSU), Monterey Bay. This year’s theme is “Our WATER’s Future: Challenges and Next Steps.” Presentations will include information on water contaminants, climate change effects on water quality, and environmental justice.
