The 2022 Delta Heritage Forum is This Thursday

The Forum is a free, full-day event focused on preserving and telling Delta and Carquinez Strait stories, and providing opportunities for partnerships, collaboration, and networking. The theme for this year’s Forum is “Writing the Next Chapter in Delta Heritage.” Anyone with an interest in Delta heritage is invited to attend.

Delta Protection Advisory Committee

Join virtually with Microsoft Teams
The next Delta Protection Advisory Committee (DPAC) meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 1 at the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Conservancy's Office in West Sacramento. The meeting will be conducted in a hybrid format with an option to participate virtually using Microsoft Teams.
The meeting will include discussions on the Delta Conveyance Project Draft Environmental Impact Report and an update on Delta Protection Commission activities.
Delta Independent Science Board Meeting

On November 3, the Delta Independent Science Board (Delta ISB) will meet to hear presentations on Delta restoration progress and the Fish Restoration Program Tidal Wetland Monitoring Program. The Delta ISB will also discuss its review of the Delta Conveyance Project Draft Environmental Impact Report.
On November 4, the Delta ISB will tour the Yolo Bypass. See the November 4 meeting notice (PDF) for more details.
Delta Harmful Algal Blooms Workshop

Monitoring harmful algal blooms (HABs) is critical to protecting water quality and public health. But there is no comprehensive program, strategy, or funding to do so. As such, the Delta Science Program is hosting a two-day hybrid workshop focusing on nexuses where HABs monitoring and data collection can be optimized to create a strategy for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. This workshop will facilitate the collaborative development of a monitoring strategy.

Cache Slough Public Access Recreation Action Plan Workshop

Solano County, the California Department of Water Resources, and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife are seeking input on an Action Plan for enhancing public recreation opportunities within the Cache Slough region. The Action Plan will help guide future County and State investments in feasible recreation facilities within the Cache Slough region that are safe, inclusive, and respect local land uses and landowners.
West Sacramento Clean California Dump Day
Saturday, November 5 8 AM to 2 PM (or until capacity is reached)
West Sacramento Maintenance Station 1040 S River Road, West Sacramento, CA 95691
Dump Day events are organized to further Caltrans’ goal of keeping California highways litter-free as part of the Clean California Initiative. Caltrans will have staff on-site to accept household waste and approved debris at no charge.
Delta Island Adaptations Public Design Workshop

The Delta Island Adaptations Project Team invites the public to discuss proposed land use changes on Bouldin Island. The project's technical advisory committee will also be participating. All public input will be incorporated into the advancement of design scenarios as part of the project's co-design process.

There are "Caution" advisories in the following areas:
- Three-Mile Slough
- False River
- Fisherman’s Cut
- Franks Tract
- Old River at the following locations: between Franks Tract and San Joaquin River, at Clifton Court Intake near Doughty Cut, head of Old River
- Holland Cut
- Big Break Regional Shoreline
- Middle River near Mildred Island
- Turner Cut
- Victoria Canal
- West Canal
- Gratn Line Canal
