Workshop on content for Update 2023 coming up tomorrow
This week provides another opportunity to learn about the development of California Water Plan Update 2023 (Update 2023). Tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 27, the California Water Plan team will host a virtual workshop to deliver an overview of the content being developed for Update 2023. The workshop agenda and workbook will give local agencies, non-governmental organizations, and others an opportunity to provide input on how to maximize the utility of Update 2023. The California Water Plan is the State's strategic plan for developing and equitably managing water resources for sustainability and resilience.

Webinar to look at resilience through restoration
The next webinar in Sustainable Conservation’s fall series will feature a panel of experts discussing how they're working together to accelerate the pace and scale of habitat restoration in California. Sustainable Conservation advances policy and regulatory incentives to help revitalize landscapes, habitats, and wildlife populations. The webinar will be Monday, Oct. 31.
PPIC event looks at repurposing farmland for solar power
The development of solar power in the San Joaquin Valley will be discussed on Tuesday, Nov. 1. Hosted by the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC), a panel discussion will explore how solar development could make economic sense for farmland that may have to be repurposed to replenish degraded aquifers. The discussion will look at the benefits and obstacles that come with the idea.
Three-day groundwater symposium to be held at UC Davis
Ag Tech Day will be this Friday a Fresno State
The annual Ag Tech Day, at Fresno State’s Center for Irrigation, will be this Friday, Oct. 28. The event is an opportunity to demonstrate and showcase the latest innovations in agricultural irrigation. The program includes a demonstration on how variable frequency pump drives can lower energy costs and increase irrigation equipment lifespans.
Workshop on Delta recreation plan set for next week in Rio Vista
The second in a series of workshops on the Cache Slough Public Access Recreation Action Plan will be held Thursday, Nov. 3, in Rio Vista. The plan is being developed to identify new recreation opportunities in the Cache Slough region of the Delta. A final list of priorities and recommendations is expected to be released early next year.
