Save Our Water workshop to discuss drought and conservation
As part of the Save Our Water campaign, an online opportunity to discuss drought and conservation actions will be held Wednesday, Oct. 19. Several agencies and associations will join Natural Resources Secretary Wade Crowfoot for the California Drought Planning Workshop. Water agencies will present their experiences, challenges, and innovative efforts to build resiliency against drought.

Six-year-drought strategies on water commission agenda
The next meeting of the California Water Commission will include a staff presentation on initial work to develop strategies for dealing with a drought that lasts at least six years. The work is being done to support a Water Resilience Portfolio action that calls for protecting communities, fish, and wildlife. The meeting will be Wednesday, Oct. 19, in Sacramento.
$510 million in drought relief funding available from DWR
DWR is accepting applications for $510 million in funding to provide drought relief. Most of the funding will be distributed through the 2022 Urban Community Drought Relief Grant Program. Other funding, to help regional groundwater agencies, will be available through the Sustainable Groundwater Management Grant Program; and $10.7 million in grants will be provided through the Delta Drought Response Pilot Program.
Two virtual funding fairs scheduled for the coming weeks
The California Financing Coordinating Committee has scheduled two virtual funding fairs for the coming weeks. The fairs provide access to government agencies that offer grant, loan, and bond financing options for infrastructure projects. The fairs will be Wednesday, Oct. 19; and Thursday, Nov. 3. State grant information can also be found on the California Grants Portal; federal information is available at Grants.gov.

Webinar to look at ways to connect people and share data
The Internet of Water has scheduled a webinar to look at the water quality movement’s need to create pipelines that connect people and share data. There will be details on how the Water Data Collaborative’s Mainstream Network is connecting people and how data are being shared through the Water Reporter API. The webinar will be Thursday, Oct. 30.
