Delta Protection Commission Meeting

The Antioch Library hosts Community Resources on Fridays from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Drop by any time to learn more about the services available. On Friday, September 9, a representative from Contra Costa Elections will be available to answer questions and help you register to vote.
Isleton Dash to the Delta

The Isleton Chamber of Commerce is putting on the annual Delta Dash. This event will have plenty of vendors and food. Swing on by and discover what's happening with the Chamber.
Rio Vista Airport Day: Wings & Wheels
Saturday, September 10 10 AM to 4 PM
Rio Vista Municipal Airport 3000 Bauman Road, Rio Vista
Airport Days Wings and Wheels is back! The main event starts at 10 AM with vintage and experimental aircraft on display as well as some fancy cars from local owners and groups. There will also be live music, a kids' activity area, food trucks, and more. This event is free and open to the public. A cooling station will be available.
Explore the Antioch Dunes

Here’s your chance to explore this refuge that is usually closed to the public! This 1-mile guided tour will focus on the wonders of Antioch Dunes National Wildlife Refuge. Wear sturdy shoes for the sandy hike along the dunes. All ages are welcome and no reservations are required.

Antioch Rivertown Peddler's Faire
Saturday, September 10 9 AM - 3 PM
Downtown Antioch, Rivertown District G Street & 2nd Street, Antioch
This event features over 75 dealers selling vintage goods, antiques, collectibles, re-purposed & handmade items, arts & crafts, live music, food & fun! While at the Rivertown Peddlers Faire be sure to visit the Rivertown District's antique & collectible stores. These stores will have additional inventory in preparation for the visitors on event day!
East Contra Costa Historical Society 34th Annual Community BBQ
Sunday, September 11 2 PM to 5 PM
East Contra Costa Historical Museum 3890 Sellers Ave, Brentwood 94513
Enjoy an afternoon with friends and family at the East Contra Costa Historical Museum. This event includes a docent-led tour through House & Homer's Shed and lessons in Eden Plain Schoolhouse. Virtual and in-person options are available for participants.

Delta Champion Awards Dinner

The winners have been chosen for the Delta Regional Foundation's Delta Champion Awards! Join the celebratory dinner to recognize the following individuals and organizations for their contributions to the Delta:
- Dino Cortopassi (Stockton-area businessman and farmer, recognized posthumously) - Delta Preserver
- Bill Wells (California Delta Chambers and Visitor's Bureau) - Delta Promoter
- Restore the Delta (Stockton-based nonprofit) - Delta Improver
- RioVision (Rio Vista-based nonprofit) - Delta Innovator
- Dr. Henry Go (Courtland-based physician) - Delta Lifetime Achievement
The dinner will be held on Tuesday, September 13 at 5:30 PM in Thornton.
Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) Weekly Report
There is currently a "Danger" level Harmful Algal Bloom at the Big Break Regional Shoreline Boat Launch. The California State Water Resources Control Board advises individuals to stay out of the water, not touch the scum on the water or shoreline, keep pets out of the water, and not eat shellfish from the waterbody.
There is a "Warning" for McLeod Lake by Joan Darrah Promenade and Mormon Slough near W. Weber Ave
There are "Caution" advisories in the following areas:
- Sacramento River at Sandy Beach and Brannan Island State Recreation Area
- Mokelumne River near San Joaquin River and at B&W Resort Marina
- Little Potato Slough at Tower Park Marina
- San Joaquin River at the following locations: Prisoner's Point, Eddos Harbor & RV Park, Lost Isle/Acker Island, Windwill Cove, Dad's Point, Stockton Rod and Gun Club, and Mossdale Crossing Regional Park
- Sherman Island
- White Slough at King Island Marina Boat Launch
- Fourteen Mile Slough/White Slough at Village West Marina and Resort
- Franks Tract Mid-Tract
- Old River at the following locations: east of Franks Tract, Clifton Court Intake, near Doughty Cut, and head of Old River
- Buckley Cove Boat Launch
- Smith Canal near American Legion Park
- McLeod Lake at Morelli Park
- Middle River at Tracy and Howard Road
- West Canal at Clifton Court Intake
- Grant Line Canal east of Temporary Barrier
- Victoria Canal near Union Point
