The Delta Independent Science Board (Delta ISB) has two upcoming meetings. On August 11, the Delta ISB will meet to discuss the Anticipating California Delta Futures initiative, Science Needs Assessment, Delta ISB Work Plan, Delta Plan Ecosystem Amendment, Delta Conveyance Project Environmental Impact Report, and more.
On August 12, the Delta ISB will tour the State Water Project’s Harvey O. Banks Pumping Plant and John E. Skinner Delta Fish Protective Facility, the UC Davis Fish Conservation and Culture Laboratory, and the Central Valley Project’s Tracy Fish Collection Facility.
Little Manila Rising Youth Advocates Conference

Join Little Maila Rising and community members on August 11 for the CommUnity: Bloom of Our Ancestors youth advocates conference. During this conference, participants will discuss Stockton's rich history and what can be done as a collective to enact community change through health equity, environmental justice, and advocacy. The conference includes youth-led workshops, panels, and raffles.
Sip of Summer

Join the Friends of Clarksburg Services and Recreation for the Second Annual Sip of Summer. This event will be raising funds for the North Delta Aquatic Center. This year's theme is takin' it back to the 80's. The event includes a sit-down dinner, 80s music, wine, and a live auction.
Oakley Kids Fishing Derby

Get ready for the annual fishing derby! This event is for children up to 15 years old. The derby is a catch and release event with assistance to release fish. Preregistration and same-day registration are available.
California Garlic Festival

Calling all garlic lovers – the California Garlic Festival is coming to Stockton! The Festival will be held on August 13 and 14 in Stockton at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds. Enjoy a two-day fest dedicated to garlic featuring a vast array of delicacies and artisan goods. In addition to food, there will be cooking demos, live music, a carnival, and more for the whole family!
Exploring the Antioch Dunes

Here’s your chance to explore this refuge that is usually closed to the public! This 1 mile guided tour will focus on the wonders of Antioch Dunes National Wildlife Refuge. Wear sturdy shoes for the sandy hike along the dunes. All ages are welcome and no reservations are required.
Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) Weekly Report
There are currently "Danger" level Harmful Algal Blooms at the Big Break Regional Shoreline Boat Launch and Discovery Bay. The California State Water Resources Control Board advises individuals to stay out of the water, not touch the scum on the water or shoreline, keep pets out of the water, and not eat shellfish from the waterbody.
There are "Caution" advisories in the following areas:
- Mokelumne River near San Joaquin River and at Delta Paradise Island Marina
- San Joaquin River at the following locations: Prisoner's Point, Eddos harbor & RV Park, east of Blind Pt, Windmill Cove, between Calaveras River and Buckley Cove, east end of Rough and Ready Island, Stockton Turning Basin, Stockton Rod and Gun Club, and west of West Island
- Confluene of the Sacramento and San Joaquin River at the Pittsburg Marina
- Fisherman's Cut near San Joaquin River
- False River near San Joaquin River
- Frank's Tract Mid-Tract
- Old River at the following locations: between Franks Tract and San Joaquin River, east of Holland Riverside Marina, Clifton Court Intake, head of Old River, near Doughty Cut, and Tracy Wildlife Association
- West Canal at Clifton Court Intake
- Grant Line Canal east of Temporary Barrier
- Victoria Canal near Union Point
- Middle River at Tracy and Howard Road
- Smith Canal near American Legion Park and between Dad's Point/Louis Park and Pershing Avenue
- Buckley Cove Boat Launch
- Mormon Slough near W. Weber Ave
- McLeod Lake at Morelli Park, by Joan Darrah Promenade
