Yuba County residents are invited to a special Flood Risk Awareness and Preparedness Town Hall this Wednesday, October 29, from 5-7:30 p.m. at the FIVE30 Event Center at 1104 J Street in Marysville for a community conversation about what’s been done to reduce flood risk in Yuba County, what’s next and how you can stay prepared. Colgate Tunnel, penstock and powerhouse improvements underway in Yuba County foothills
 Yuba Water has officially begun its Colgate Tunnel and Penstock Improvement Project, a major maintenance effort on the system that moves water from New Bullards Bar Dam and Reservoir to our New Colgate Powerhouse, where it generates clean hydropower. The work doesn’t happen often, but it’s an important step to keep our facilities running safely and efficiently for decades to come. Work will continue through spring 2026. [Read more]

Yuba Water approves more than $8 million for critical flood and water projects in Yuba County
 Last month, Yuba Water approved more than $5.8 million through six grants and $2.3 million in two loans to advance critical flood risk reduction and water supply reliability work throughout Yuba County. The funds will support critical irrigation canal upgrades, development of a new Stormwater Master Plan for Wheatland, final steps for the Bear River Setback Levee Project and continued work on the Marysville Ring Levee. Recent Yuba Water grants support foothill wildfire resilience efforts and water infrastructure upgrades
 Earlier this month, Yuba Water approved nearly $350,000 in wildfire resilience funding to target hard-to-reach areas just beyond defensible space zones on small private lands, which are critical for reducing wildfire risk in Yuba County's forested foothills. Yuba Water also approved more than $500,000 to support a major pipeline upgrade and improvement project within the Hallwood Irrigation Company's agricultural service area in east Marysville. Yuba Water loan helps advance critical wastewater improvement project in South Yuba County
 The Wheatland-Olivehurst Public Utility District Regional Wastewater Transmission and Treatment Facilities Project, also known as the South County Infrastructure Project, is moving forward to improve wastewater service and protect water quality in South Yuba County. The first phase of the project will enable wastewater from the City of Wheatland to be treated by OPUD’s existing treatment plant and fund some modernization of OPUD’s facilities. [Read more]

Yuba Water celebrates new facilities in Oregon House, explores future consolidation of Marysville offices
 After two years of construction, Yuba Water has officially relocated its foothill offices from Lake Francis Road to a new property at 8897 Marysville Road in Oregon House. The 20-acre site includes a modern administration building, an improved school bus stop and a 150,000-gallon water tank that has already helped support fire-fighting efforts in the area. A warehouse and mechanics shop are still under construction and should be done in the coming weeks. [Read more]
