Yuba Water Agency Lunch and Learn
"Forest Health and Watershed Resilience"
Wednesday, June 30, 2021
12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
Register via Zoom.
The Yuba River watershed has large areas of overly dense forests that are susceptible to high-severity wildfire. Recognizing this, Yuba Water Agency launched its trailblazing Watershed Resilience Program in 2018 to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfire, protect Yuba County’s foothill communities and safeguard our water supply from the devastation of a megafire.
As part of this program, Yuba Water has already committed more than $10 million to fire risk reduction and forest restoration actions. This commitment has helped leverage an additional $68 million in external grants and loans for ecologically-based thinning, prescribed fire, biomass removal and utilization, local emergency preparedness and more.
We invite you to learn more about the program and partnerships working to protect our watershed during this one-hour webinar. This virtual event is free and open to the public.
