The agenda for the upcoming California Water Quality Monitoring Council meeting on Thursday, November 20, 2025, is now available. The meeting will be held from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
This meeting’s theme is post-fire water quality, with a focus on impacts to drinking water. We’re pleased to welcome speakers from the Division of Drinking Water at the State Water Board, who will share how the program operates, how data are collected, and how they respond during fire emergencies, along with lessons learned from recent wildfires. A student researcher will also present related work on post-fire impacts to drinking water.
The agenda also includes a summary of recent and upcoming workgroup meetings, with links to additional meeting information.
The meeting features a Council discussion on how to support a post-fire monitoring framework to improve the collection, management, and sharing of data, information, and resources.
