EPA has released EPA’s Beach Report: 2023 Swimming Season

Number of total and monitored coastal and Great Lake program beaches by state/territory/Tribe

Today, the EPA released EPA’s Beach Report: 2023 Swimming Season, a national summary of beach closings and advisories from the 2023 swimming season. This annual report is based on information submitted to the EPA by the 30 states, four Tribes and five territories with coastal and Great Lakes beaches who received BEACH Act grants from the EPA. The report contains national-level statistics such as the percentage of applicable beaches that were open and safe for swimming.
