City Council Update
The City Council will meet on Tuesday, June 6, beginning at 6:00 p.m. On the agenda is a review of the City’s proposed budget for the next two fiscal years and an update regarding the City Council’s top five priorities. The Council will also issue a proclamation recognizing Juneteenth, and adopt a resolution designating June as Pride Month. The Rainbow Pride Flag flies outside of City Hall throughout the month of June.
During May, the City Council reviewed a draft of new economic development strategies and provided feedback on how best to position the City for the coming years. You can view prior meetings and agenda material on the public meetings agendas and videos webpage. As always, you're invited to attend in person, or watch live on YouTube, Walnut Creek TV, Zoom or on our City website.
Development services new project tracker
If you've ever driven by a construction site in Walnut Creek and wondered what was going to be built there, there is an revamped webpage that highlights major projects in the development pipeline. You can find details there on larger-scale projects that are either under review, approved, under construction, or have recently been completed.
City Planners have made the site more user-friendly, including a web map tool to make it easier to find out details about a particular project. The site is updated multiple times per year.
Register for Emergency Alerts from the City
While the rains that ushered in 2023 will hopefully make this year's fire season less destructive, it is still important to be in the know when a fire or any other disaster is threatening Walnut Creek. Stay on top of potentially dangerous situations by registering for our Walnut Creek emergency alerts. By visiting the emergency preparedness website, you can make sure you'll receive a phone call, text or email in case of an event. The site also has tips on how to prepare your home or property.
