Increased Firework Enforcement
We have stepped up our enforcement efforts to target the sale of illegal fireworks both online and in person. Successful busts for sales and possession have resulted in fines of up to $50,000 being assessed in three recent cases involving Victorville businesses and residents. All fireworks, even those labeled “safe and sane” are illegal in the City of Victorville because of their threat to public safety. Read the full story on our City website.
Report fireworks anonymously at vv.city/reportfireworks.

Pet Safety During Hot Temperatures:
To keep your pets safe this summer, it is important to keep them cool and comfortable to prevent heat related illnesses. Here are a few tips:
- Never leave your pets in a hot car, temperatures rise quickly and can result in the death of your pet.
- Keep plenty of fresh water available.
- Know the symptoms of overheating: difficulty breathing, increased heart rate, excessive drooling, weakness, increased body temperature.
- If the floor burns your hand, it can injure your pets' paws.
- If possible, bring pets indoors to cooler temperatures, or provide shelter and plenty of shade if the pet must remain outdoors.
- Keep up to date with licenses and microchip your pets.
Microchipping pets can aid in reuniting lost pets quicker. During hot months it is crucial that you can be contacted quickly in the instance that your pet has been found.
For more information or to report/search for a lost dog, visit vv.city/animalcare or call (760) 955-5089.
