Animal Care & Control
This year, our Animal Care and Control team was able to match over 250 animals with their 'fur-ever' homes through rescues and adoption events.
Looking forward, we plan on establishing a permanent city-operated animal shelter at the former Goodwill High School, thanks to a new lease with the Victor Valley Union High School District!
For more information about our adoptable pets, visit vv.city/petfinder or call (760) 955-5089.
|
Community Events
This year, we had incredible attendance at our community events. From our Concert in the Park series, to Fall Festival, to our holiday events like the Hallowboo Drive-Thru and Tree Lighting, we had so much fun celebrating with our community!
Looking forward, we plan to continue to improve and expand our events making them more fun and accessible for everyone!
|
Economic Development
This year we welcomed more than 200 new businesses to the City of Victorville!
We also launched our Old Town Facade program to further enhance the economic growth and vitality of our city. Looking forward, we will continue efforts to revitalize Old Town with our Community Revitalization Investment Authority and some major businesses like Sprouts are going to be opening!
|
Investing in Infrastructure
This year, we completed the Green Tree Extension creating a new East/West connection between Apple Valley and Victorville. Bike lanes were added on the bridge, improving the City of Victorville bike lane network.
Looking forward, we plan to improve roadways and infrastructure including a two mile stretch of Bear Valley Rd. between Amethyst and 395.
|
Park Improvements
This year we made a number of major improvements to our park facilities including smart benches, new playground equipment, ADA accommodations, shade structures, and so much more!
Looking forward, future improvements will include a splash pad, additional sports lighting, walking loop, dog park, and covered picnic areas at Eva Dell Park!
|
SCLA
This year, we continued to experience growth at our Southern California Logistics Airport, SCLA! Two new industrial buildings were built and are now occupied by Amazon and Iron Mountain.
Looking forward, The Covington Group plans to develop two million square feet of industrial space at our logistics airport!
|
Victorville Wellness Center
This year, our Victorville Wellness Center opened! It is the first low-barrier, non-congregate emergency shelter to offer interim housing and wraparound support services with a medical and recuperative care clinic on-site.
Looking forward, we plan to continue to develop innovative ways to reduce homelessness throughout our city.
|
