While our Wellness Center is on track to be complete in the coming months, we’re still working toward our strategic goal of reducing homelessness in our Victorville community. For example, we’re using Measure P revenue to fund a 92-bed interim shelter at Westwinds Sports Center. In the last fiscal year, 582 individuals received shelter at this interim operation and 119 transitioned to permanent housing. We appreciate High Desert Homeless Services for their outstanding work operating our interim shelter. We remain focused on this important issue for our community and look forward to expanding these services once the Wellness Center is complete. More information about our Homelessness Solutions Plan and the work of our Homelessness Solutions Task Force is available at VictorvilleCA.gov/HomelessnessSolutions.
