This week, crews began installing the modular units at our Wellness Center. Construction should be complete this summer. Our Wellness Center is being built on City-owned land on First Street. The Center is at the heart of our strategy to reduce homelessness in Victorville. It will offer 110 separate modular units with a minimum 170-bed capacity. Our Center will increase shelter beds in Victorville by 56 percent while providing healthcare and other supportive services to help end the cycle of homelessness. The Wellness Center is being funded primarily through a $28 million grant from the State of California.
