Are you looking to off-load some of your old paperwork, TVs, appliances, mattresses, and more? Take advantage of the FREE Shred-Fest, Mulch Giveaway, and Recycling Drop-off at the Victor Valley Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) on Saturday, Feb.5 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This event will feature drive-thru document shredding, a mulch and compost giveaway, electronic waste and appliance disposal, and free mattress and box spring recycling. All activities are FREE and open to residents of the High Desert.
The Victor Valley MRF is located at 17000 Abbey Lane in Victorville, just off Stoddard Wells Road.

2021 Highlights & Accomplishments

Green Tree Extension
Crews are making progress on our Green Tree Extension! This week, they are pouring concrete on the west side of the bridge we are constructing to travel over the BNSF Railroad. Barring any delays, construction should be complete by Summer 2023.

At-Home COVID-19 Tests
Many in our community have been asking about the free at-home COVID-19 tests kits made available by the federal government. For more information and to place an order, visit covidtests.gov or call (800) 232-0233. The County of San Bernardino has also resumed distribution of the take home test kits at it COVID-19 testing sites. More information is available at sbcovid19.com.

SB County Homeless Point in Time Count
To slow the spread of COVID-19, SB County has postponed the Homeless Point in Time Count to Feb. 24. Volunteers are still needed. For more information, visit link.sbcounty.gov/PITC.

Everyone age five and older is eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The Pfizer vaccine is the only vaccine approved for persons under 18. The Pfizer vaccine is being administered at County and State OptumServ sites. A parent or guardian must accompany their children ages five through 17 to vaccine appointments, and a driver's license or birth certificate is needed to verify age.
