City of Victorville Breaks Ground on

Green Tree Extension

We’re so pleased to announce that we broke ground on our Green Tree Extension on June 1! We will extend Green Tree Boulevard 1.5 miles from Hesperia Road to Ridgecrest/Yates Road connecting the communities of Victorville and Apple Valley.

Integral to the project is a 600 foot bridge over the BNSF railroad.  The Extension will provide another East/West corridor for the region and provide congestion relief to Bear Valley Road.

We're thankful to our funding partners and collaborators: Town of Apple Valley, County of San Bernardino and San Bernardino County Transportation Authority for their support.

Also on June 1, crews began working on a pavement rehabilitation project in the Liberty Village area that will rehab 16 miles of road with crack seal and slurry seal.  

And later this month, a complete road reconstruction project will begin on Industrial Boulevard and Silica Road between Bear Valley Road and Hesperia Road.  

We're excited about these road improvement projects that will make commutes more enjoyable for our community and the greater High Desert.

Summer Reading Program

Our Summer Reading Program begins the week of June 7, and we’re doing things a little different this year! Each week through Aug. 2, we’ll share videos about City departments and how we serve our community. Each video contains a code to be entered for weekly prize drawings. San Bernardino County Rent Relief Partnership

San Bernardino County's Rent Relief Partnership is available to provide rent assistance to residents negatively impacted by COVID-19.  The program provides rent payments that are owed.  Utility payments and future rent assistance may be offered soon.  To learn more about this program, visit sbcrentrelief.org. As another resource, the City of Victorville provides federal CDBG dollars to local nonprofit organizations to help individuals in our community with rent and utility assistance.  If you’re in need of help, we invite you to reach out to these organizations.  View the contact information at vv.city/rentassistance.

Art in the Park

We’ll be at a few of our local parks for fun, creative, and FREE Art in the Park classes each week beginning June 14 through Aug.12! Children ages two to five are invited to join us at Sunset Ridge Park on Mondays & Wednesdays, and children ages six to 12 at Liberty Park on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Various time slots are available. If You Light It, We'll Write It

Fireworks continue to be illegal in the City of Victorville.  In response to citizen complaints, our City Council approved an ordinance that increases the fine for illegal fireworks from $100 to $1,000.  This will be the second year the $1,000 fine will be enforced in Victorville.  

Residents are encouraged to leave the fireworks to the professionals and join us for our 4^th of July Spectacular at the Fairgrounds.
