VICTORVILLE, Calif. — Today, the City of Victorville announced plans to reopen Victorville City Hall to the community on April 5 following a closure of nearly four months. Access to City Hall will be limited, and COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place.
Walk-ins will be permitted to the City’s customer service counters for water, trash and animal licensing-related business; while appointments will be required to access all other departments in City Hall such as planning, business licensing and engineering. Appointments can be scheduled online at vv.city/appointment or by calling (760) 955-5000 starting April 5.
“We look forward to serving our community in-person again at City Hall starting April 5 and resuming the in-person connections that are such an important part of our customer service efforts,” said Victorville Mayor, Debra Jones.
As a precautionary measure, visitors will be required to wear a face covering and participate in a health screening to include a temperature reading before entering the building. Entry to City Hall will be permitted at the front of the building near the customer service counters only.
The number of visitors inside City Hall will be limited to enable social distancing. For this reason, visitors should expect to cue in line while awaiting their turn to enter the building. Markers indicating six-foot distancing have been placed on sidewalks near the entrance to aid with social distancing. Plexiglass partitions will be installed at all customer service counters to provide added protections for community members and City employees. Hand sanitizing stations will be available, and all visitors are encouraged to practice social distancing and public health hygiene to include frequent hand washing.
On April 5, the Victorville Animal Care and Control office on Amargosa Road will also open to community access; and the Victorville City Library will begin taking appointments for in-person, U.S. passport services. Passport appointments at the library can be scheduled at vv.city/passport or by calling (760) 245-4222, ext. 3.
The City’s Recycling Drop off Center and Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center remain open with COVID-19 safety protocols in place.
The City of Victorville continues to offer its remote customer service options including web and phone bill pay and online permitting, plan and licensing submittals, which are available at vv.city/customerservice.
City Council Meetings will continue to be conducted via Zoom until further notice. The Council meeting schedule, agendas and Zoom meeting details are available on the City’s website at VictorvilleCA.gov/agendas.
