November Election Results
The San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters certified the Nov. 3 election results in early December. Elizabeth Becerra and Leslie Irving were elected to serve on the Victorville City Council, and Council Member Blanca Gomez was re-elected. They joined existing Council Members, Debra Jones and Rita Ramirez. For the first time in the City's history, Victorville has an all-female City Council. The Victorville voters also approved Victorville Measure P. The additional revenue generated by this one-cent sales tax will help us address our community's growing need for increased essential City services including police, fire, code enforcement, animal care and control, homelessness solutions, and library and literacy programs. Ultimately, Measure P will help us build a safer, stronger Victorville. We take seriously the trust our community has placed in us to utilize these funds to the greatest benefit for the people of Victorville. The City Council's next steps will include formation of a Citizen's Oversight Committee. Measure P will go into effect on April 1, 2021. Most likely, the City of Victorville will receive the first quarter of new revenue in June or July.
