Hands on the Arts - Call for Art Workshop Leaders

Artists, makers and hobbyists are invited to share their talents at the 41st annual Hands on the Arts festival on Saturday, Oct. 17. Selected workshop leaders will lead a visual or performing arts activity for children during the event.
Selected workshop leaders receive a $400 stipend and activity supplies. Applications are due Wednesday, June 17 by 5 p.m.

Evening of Cultural Arts: James Garner's Tribute to Johnny Cash

Saturday, June 13 7 p.m. (Doors open at 6:15 p.m.) Sunnyvale Theatre Prices vary
Enjoy a live tribute to Johnny Cash performed by James Garner and his band. Hear classic hits like Folsom Prison Blues, Ring of Fire and I Walk the Line, along with stories about Cash’s life and career.
Sunnyvale Summer Pop-Ups
Join Sunnyvale Recreation for Summer Pop-Ups, a free all-ages event series at neighborhood parks this summer. Enjoy snacks and lawn games while connecting with Recreation staff and learning about classes, camps and events.
Visitors can also pick up a free Sunnyvale Activities coloring book while supplies last.
Summer Pop-Ups take place Tuesdays from 10 to 11 a.m. from June 16 through Aug. 4. Locations vary by week. See page 12 of the Summer Activities Guide for locations.
The Columbia Neighborhood Center offers a variety of free and low-cost programs for youth, adults and families.
Ready, SET, Hoop! Basketball Clinic
Students in grades 3 through 6 can build basketball skills and stay active at this free clinic on Saturday, June 27 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Columbia Neighborhood Center Gym. Registration is required.
Medical Services for Adults
Free medical services for uninsured adults with limited income are available on June 2, 16 and 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. Services include primary care, minor illness treatment, prescription refills and referrals. Spanish interpreters are available. Appointments are required. Call 408-730-7800.
Summer Fun on the Run
Children ages 6 to 11 can enjoy supervised games, crafts and recreation activities at parks throughout Sunnyvale during school break. This free drop-in program begins June 15 and is offered at Fairwood Park, Ponderosa Park and Columbia Park. View Fun on the Run locations and details.
Drop-In Pickleball for Beginners
Every Saturday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Columbia Neighborhood Center Gym, this beginner-friendly program offers recreational, non-competitive pickleball for adults and youth. Participants ages 8-13 and younger must attend with a parent or guardian. Youth ages 14-17 must have a signed consent to participate. Bring your own paddle and balls. A limited number of paddles are available to borrow. A $3 suggested donation is welcome but not required.

- Family Fun at the Park: Enjoy a family night at your local park featuring a different performer each week on Thursdays from 7 to 8 p.m. starting June 18 until July 30. View event locations on the Summer Activities Guide page 8.
- Stop by and explore the refreshed Community Center Grounds featuring updated walking paths, gathering spaces, playground and picnic areas and a redesigned pond.
