November at the Library this year brings lots of storytimes, S.T.E.M programs, early learning opportunities for little ones, and more!
Many of our programs this month do not have registration. Space in our programs is still limited and the doors will close when the program is full.
For programs with registrations, we recommend arriving early. Registrants' spots are only guaranteed until the start of the program.
Please note:
- The Library will be closing early at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26
- The Library will be closed all day Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28

Native American Heritage Month |

Come into the Library this month for books and activities honoring Native American Heritage Month.

Celebrate the rich history, diverse culture, and enduring contributions of the indigenous peoples of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe. Learn about the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe, including the Chochenyo language and make a craft. There will also be an official land acknowledgement at the beginning of the program.

Have you wondered about the benefits of bilingualism for children? In this dynamic workshop, Dr. Lillian Ardell will share stories, testimonies and videos that give a clearer sense of what goes on in a bilingual classroom.

Come take a deep breath and feel the Earth under your feet as you stretch up tall like a humongous Oak Tree! In our JAMaROO Kids Yoga classes, children go on a yoga adventure using their imaginations and the art of storytelling to help navigate through yoga poses. Play yoga games, sing yoga songs, and practice breathing techniques. This class gives children a developmentally appropriate way to explore yoga poses, mindfulness, and social emotional learning.

Graphic novels rule at our book club! Join us monthly to discuss a fun graphic novel.
This month, we will discuss Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Partypooper by Jeff Kinney. If you don't have a chance to read it, you are still welcome to come and listen or talk about your favorite graphic novel. As a club, feel free to suggest our next read.

This winter, set your own goal! What number of books is challenging for you? Write it down in a notebook or stick it on your refrigerator. Log at least 1 book in Beanstack by Jan. 12 to complete the challenge!
Children ages 0 to grade 12 will receive a free paperback book when they sign up for the Winter Reading Challenge from Dec. 1 to Jan. 12. Once signed up, go to the Children's Information Desk to claim your free book and to add your name to our Reader Wall!
Readers who log at least 1 book in Beanstack can also enter our drawing for a grand prize! The more books your read, the more chances to win (limit 8 entries per reader).

 The City of Sunnyvale is seeking public input to better understand how the Water Pollution Control Plant Treatment Ponds Interior Levee trails are used and what impacts a potential closure might have on the community. Your feedback will help guide future planning and decision-making. Potential and/or current uses for these trails include walking, jogging, biking, and habitat viewing (bird watching).
