We are accepting applications from eligible one and two-bedroom households.
The City of Sunnyvale is now accepting applications from purchase-ready, first-time homebuyers interested in owning an affordable 1 or 2-bedroom Below Market Rate (BMR) home.
These homes are available to moderate and lower-income households, with priority given to those who currently live or work in Sunnyvale.

How to Determine Eligibility and Apply
Households eligible for, one and two-bedrooms: Apply by completing the following steps. Download the forms and resources you'll need below.
- Verify that you meet the Income Limits based on your household size.
- Review the BMR Home Ownership Program Guidelines.
- Confirm with Housing staff, the number of bedrooms that your household qualifies for.
- Ensure you have 10% of the homes purchase price for down payment.
- Obtain a pre-approval letter for a loan from a Qualified Participating Lender.
- Attend an 8-hour Homebuyer Education Workshop, in person or online. The workshop must be from a HUD-Certified Homebuyer Education Provider
- Complete a Homebuyer Program Eligibility Application, and gather all the required supporting documentation.
