HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UPDATE: SUSPECT ARRESTED
SUNNYVALE, CA – On Thursday, May 29, 2025, at approximately 7:42 p.m., Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (DPS) officers responded to a residence on the 900 block of S. Wolfe Road following reports of multiple gunshots.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim outside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered medical aid; however, despite lifesaving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The suspect was identified as 44-year-old, Jesus Aguilera of Sunnyvale, California. Aguilera fled the scene prior to arrival of the officers.
After an exhaustive investigation, on June 20, 2025, Aguilera was located and arrested without incident in Oakland, CA. He was booked into the Santa Clara County jail for murder. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office and to the San Leandro and Oakland Police Departments for their assistance.
