¡Únete a nuestro Club de lectura en español! Nos reuniremos una vez al mes y tendremos copias del libro para el mes siguiente. En nuestra cuarto sesión, nos pondremos de acuerdo sobre como será el Club de lectura y también discutiremos temas y autores para futuras sesiones.

In Hinduism, even representations of deities possess divinity, so the act of darshan (viewing an image of a deity) can be profound and auspicious for the believer. Explore the storied pantheon of Hindu gods and goddesses and the powerful possibilities of darshan. This one-hour online lecture by Asian Art Museum community speaker docent Charita Thakkar is followed by a Q&A. Registration is required.

Rare book dealer Ashlyn has the ability to feel echoes of books' previous owners. When she comes across two mysterious books that appear never to have been published, each telling one side of a tragic romance, her gift becomes an obsession with uncovering the authors' love story. Celebrate Jewish American Heritage Month by learning about Synagogues in the United States. Scholar and author Oscar Israelowitz will take us on an online tour of this country's oldest and newest synagogues. The tour will range from major cities such as New York and San Francisco to lesser visited locations such as Oil City and Corsicana. Registration is required.

Celebrate Asian-American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a calligraphy class led by Jojo Liu! This session introduces the basics of Chinese calligraphy, including brush techniques and stroke order. This program is for adults only. Registration is required, as seats are limited. This is a beginner class and may be redundant for those who taken previous Chinese calligraphy workshops with Jojo Liu at our Library.

Designed for both beginners and experienced yogis, this practice combines breath and movement to awaken your body, calm your mind and set a positive tone for the day. Modifications and variations are offered throughout, making this class accessible and challenging for everyone. Registration is not required. Bring your own yoga mat and any props that may serve you. Yoga mats will not be provided.

Join us for a Bird Walk with Interpretive Guides from the San Francisco Bay Wildlife Society. There will be a short presentation, followed by a small birding stroll along the New Chicago Marsh Trail at the Alviso Unit of the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. The trail is ADA Accessible and suitable for anyone with mobility limitations. This event is geared toward all ages but will be most enjoyable for those ages eight and up. Registration is required.

Silent Book Clubs are catching on around the world as a way to meet other book lovers in your area and read together in quiet camaraderie. Bring a book of your choice, or choose one from the Library's shelves. After an hour of silent reading together, you'll have time to socialize with your neighbors about what you're reading or anything else. Registration is not required.

In partnership with the Sunnyvale Urban Forest Advocates (SUFA), we invite you to an exclusive screening of the film, Giants Rising: The Secrets and Superpowers of the Redwoods. The documentary discusses the scientific and cultural wonders of redwoods—the tallest and some of the oldest living beings on Earth. Registration is required.
