Summer Teen Volunteers

Interested in supporting your library this summer? Summer volunteers help with our lineup of summer programs for children and teens. You must be available to volunteer from the second week of June through the end of July. To be considered for a summer volunteer position, you will need to fill out the online application by May 31 and participate in a group interview during the second week of June.

Open to grades 9 to 12.

Applications for Summer 2025 are being accepted now through Sunday, May 31.

Teens Create: Perler Charms

Monday, May 5 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Grades 6 to 12 Library Program Room   Come make a bag charm or keychain to take home! All materials will be provided. Patterns will be available for your inspiration or come with your own ideas!   This program is for grades 6-12.   This program will be in the Library Program Room. Registration is recommended. Walk-ins are welcome while supplies last.

Rolled Beeswax Candles

Monday, May 19 4 to 5 p.m. Grades 3 to 8 Library Program Room   Roll and decorate your own beeswax candle.   This program is for grades 3 to 8.   This program will be in the Library Program Room. Registration is recommended. Walk-ins are welcome while supplies last.

College Admissions Information Night

Wednesday, May 21

Please join Sunita Verma of Sunita's College Consulting as she guides teens and parents through a variety of admission topics including:

• Find out what colleges look for in high school students
• Things Juniors can do next summer
• Finding the right fit college

The program will be in the Program Room. Registration is recommended. Walk-ins are welcome. 

AAPI Teens Create Bracelets: Learn Chinese Knotting

Thursday, May 22 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Grades 6 to 12 Library Program Room   Teens come celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month by making a bracelet. Teens will learn about the history of Chinese knotting, and make a friendship bracelet.

Volcanos: Go With the Flow

Friday, May 23 4 to 5 p.m. Grades 3 to 8 Library Program Room   Use "eruptions" of baking soda and vinegar to explore how volcanos grow, how later lava flows overlap earlier ones, and how earlier flows influence the paths of subsequent flows.   This program is for grades 3 to 8 and their caregivers.   This program will be in the Library Program Room. No registration required, but space is limited. Doors will close when the room is full.
