“PEERY PARK RIDES” FREE RIDESHARE SERVICE LAUNCHES MARCH 4
Join us in the heart of Peery Park as the City of Sunnyvale and Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) celebrate the launch of Peery Park Rides – a new app-based, on-demand transportation program operated by Via. This free rideshare service will operate in Sunnyvale’s Peery Park commercial district and nearby neighborhoods. It is available to anyone in the service area. |

BACKGROUND: The service is a 2-year pilot program through a partnership with the City of Sunnyvale and VTA. It is funded with a Metropolitan Transportation Commission grant and the City’s community benefit funds collected from Peery Park development projects. The program is designed to provide first-mile last-mile connections between Sunnyvale Caltrain station, business hubs and other local destinations.
How “Peery Park Rides” works: Anyone can book a ride through the Peery Park Rides app (available in App Store and Google Play) or by calling 408-539-6196. Riders can travel anywhere within the designated service zone.
The app matches riders headed in the same direction into one vehicle, creating quick and efficient shared trips. Wheelchair-accessible vehicles are available upon request.
Service hours: Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Service area: The service area is bound by US 101, Fair Oaks Avenue, El Camino Real, and the City of Mountain View border. See map below.
