FATAL VEHICLE COLLISION
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – On Sunday, February 2, 2025, at about 4:49 p.m., Sunnyvale DPS Patrol and Fire personnel responded to the 900 block of W. Cardinal Drive on a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. When emergency personnel arrived on scene, they found an adult female trapped underneath a recreational vehicle (RV). Fire personnel extricated the patient and immediately provided life-saving measures. She was transported by ambulance to the Stanford Medical Center but was pronounced deceased upon arrival. The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the RV was attempting to level the vehicle on leveling blocks in the driveway at a residence, and the pedestrian was assisting the driver when the collision occurred. The driver remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation.
Speed and intoxication do not appear to be a factor in the collision. The collision remains under investigation by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact MAIT Investigator D. Larks at (408) 730-7110.
