Fire Department
Last month, the Suisun City Fire Department conducted a live, multi-agency fire and technical training operation at the Almond Street site. This training provided a critical opportunity to enhance firefighter safety, operational readiness and regional interoperability, bringing together 455 personnel across three counties.
Over the course of 17 days, firefighters participated in hands-on instruction focused on life safety, fireground operation and interagency coordination, directly enhancing emergency response capabilities for Suisun City and the surrounding region. The Fire Department extends its sincere appreciation to the Almond Street site owner and developer, City staff and Suisun’s regional fire and law enforcement partners, whose collaboration made this high-quality training possible.
The Fire Department looks forward to continuing to build on this momentum through future training opportunities that strengthen safety, readiness and regional partnership.

Public Works Department
As of this month, the Public Works Department continues advancing the Kellogg Resiliency Project, with ongoing coordination between the Fairfield–Suisun Sewer District, project partners and the City to support infrastructure resiliency.
The 2025 Pavement Resurfacing Project is suspended until June 2026, when slurry seal and final striping will be completed on Sunset Avenue, Walters Road and portions of Blossom Avenue. The 2026 resurfacing project on Emperor Drive is nearing advertisement, with construction anticipated next summer.
Additionally, construction of the HSIP Cycle 12 safety improvement project is expected to begin this summer to enhance pedestrian visibility and upgrade warning systems near the fire station on Pintail Drive.
Public Works crews have continued providing essential citywide maintenance, including sewer cleaning, pothole repairs, landscape upkeep, illegal dumping removal and seasonal lighting installation.

Recreation, Parks and Marina Department
The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is thrilled to welcome new team members this month, including After School Program Technician Jade Ann Castillo-Kudsk and Facility and Sports Field Attendants Juan Cortez and Jose Vazquez. The department is pleased to welcome them to the team in support of youth programming and field operations.
Last month, After School Program students at Dan O’ Root and Crescent performed songs provided by FSUSD and School Yard Rap to celebrate Presidents’ Day and Martin Luther King Jr. Day. They sang “King’s Dream” and “This Land Is Your Land” for their families and showcased art projects they had created.
Seniors enjoyed a New Year’s Celebration, a monthly Meal Meet-Up at Bab’s Delta Diner and a group outing to Graton Casino, providing ongoing social and recreational opportunities.
Additionally, Marina staff coordinated response efforts for a sunken vessel, completed facility repairs and began preparations for boating season and the Music and Jazz on the Waterfront series.
Suisun City has officially launched its 2026–2027 Community Events Sponsorship Campaign to help support and sustain local events and programs. Community members and businesses can contribute directly through the SeeMyLegacy platform.
Lastly, the department would like to remind community members that registration for the Infinity Fun Run is open. The 5K and 1-mile event will take place on April 18 at Rush Ranch Open Space, welcoming participants of all ages and abilities to celebrate Autism Acceptance Month. Spots are limited, so remember to sign up for the Youth and/or Adult programs.
