Hello, Suisun City!
This September Edition of the Suisun City Scoop happens to fall during National Preparedness Month, and we are excited to highlight our Suisun City Fire Department, as they serve to protect our community and promote public safety education daily.
The Suisun City Fire and Police Departments recently demonstrated their service to our community on Aug. 26 when responding to a reported structure fire in the 1100 block of Tioga Way. Partnering with Fairfield FD, Travis Air Force Base FD, Vallejo FD and Vacaville FD, firefighters worked for about 50 minutes to bring the fire under control, successfully containing it to a single residence. The cause of the fire was determined to be arson, and a 55-year-old male suspect was arrested by Suisun PD and booked into custody. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
Suisun City Firefighters will continue to help keep Suisun safe as they recognize and spread awareness for Fire Prevention Month this October. The Department is hosting an Emergency Preparedness Fair and Open House on Oct. 4., taking place from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Salvation Army Kroc Center (586 E. Wigeon Way). The community is invited to come explore info booths, live demonstrations, wildfire preparedness and first aid resources. At the Open House, the City will also present an official proclamation for Fire Prevention Week, taking place Oct. 5–11.
Stay safe!

Join us for Suisun City’s Community Conversation series beginning this fall to learn more about how Suisun City is exploring expansion and how you can get involved.
The first workshop will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. at the Wednesday Club (225 Sacramento St.), and will feature a general overview of the annexation process and efforts thus far. Then, join us on Monday, Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. at The Vault (700 Main St STE 102), to learn more about how annexation could improve commercial and economic development.
Each event in this series will feature presentations by subject matter experts, followed by interactive question and answer sessions during which residents are encouraged to provide feedback.
In advance of the Community Conversation series, the City is seeking input through a community questionnaire at Suisun.com/ExpansionInput. The questionnaire aims to ensure that residents’ priorities, questions and concerns regarding expansion are heard and addressed throughout these events.
Find more information on how to get involved at SuisunExpansion.com.

Suisun City Police Department
On Aug. 14, the Suisun City Police Department held a Coffee with a Cop event at the McDonald's located in the Sunset Shopping Center. Thanks to the hospitality shown by their staff and the support from our community in the area, the event was a success. Thank you to everyone who attended!
This month, SCPD also relaunched its Public Safety Portal. This website is a great way for community members to search police activity in the City and includes an interactive crime map, arrest logs, stolen vehicle logs and other information. Visit the new portal at SuisunCityPD.CitizenRims.com/Map to stay informed and involved!
