Greetings, Suisun City!
My name is Jim Bermudez, and I am your Development Services Director. It is an honor for me to host the Suisun City Scoop this month.
This month, we're excited to spotlight the Development Services Department, which oversees planning, construction and code enforcement to support responsible growth and keep our community safe and vibrant.
Here are some exciting updates from our Department:
- After years of planning, the redevelopment of Almond Gardens is moving forward. A complete review is targeted by July 2025, with demolition and the construction of 99 new multifamily units to follow.
- The City is in active discussions with a popular coffee franchise to establish a location near the Sunset Shopping Center. This addition is expected to stimulate further commercial interest and development in the area.
- We want to give a big thank you to our Code Enforcement Officer, Ryan White, for his continued dedication and professionalism. As a one-person division, Ryan handles every case with efficiency and integrity, ensuring our community remains safe and well-maintained. Excellent work, Ryan!
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to support responsible growth, revitalization and community well-being. As always, thank you for your engagement and support!
All the best, Jim Bermudez Development Services Director
