Hello, Suisun City!
My name is Nouae Vue. I am your Public Works Director/City Engineer. It is an honor for me to host the Suisun City Scoop this month. Your Public Works Department has been hard at work throughout the City. The following are just a few projects and updates we have been working on in the last month:
- The 2025 Sanitary Sewer & Storm Drain Pipe Lining Project has begun, with video inspections of 11,213 feet of sewer lines completed. Over the next few weeks, cured-in-place liners will be installed. This trenchless, cost-effective rehabilitation method is designed to repair aging and deteriorating pipelines without the need for extensive excavation.
- The City has also secured a $350,000 state grant through the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) for upgrades to fire station warning devices and the installation of rectangular rapid flashing beacons at Pintail and Crane Drives. More information can be found in the City’s official press release, available here.
- Throughout March, Public Works is hosting a series of District-specific meetings to inform residents who live within a Landscaping and Lighting District (LLD) about their area’s LLD services and budget. Find meeting details and learn more at suisun.com/lldmeetings.
As always, please email us at PWM@suisun.com if you have any questions or concerns related to the Public Works Department. We are happy to hear from you!
Sincerely, Nouae Vue Public Works Director City of Suisun City

Suisun City Fire Department
SCFD recently hosted a four-day strategic planning workshop focused on developing a new mission, vision and values to guide the department’s future. On Feb. 24, CAL FIRE released an updated Fire Hazard Severity Zone map, identifying Suisun City and Solano County as areas at risk of wildfire. This ordinance is scheduled for a Public Hearing before the City Council in April 2025. SCFD also welcomed two new firefighters to our team, Fire Engineer Andrew Kegle and Firefighter Paramedic Andrew Farrell.

Development Services Department
Development Services went live with a new permitting system which will make applying for permits easier and more efficient. In the coming weeks, a public online portal will be available for residents to apply for permits themselves. On March 18, the City Manager shared plans with the City Council to focus on long-term growth, which could expand the City’s tax base and reduce service costs. The next step is to reach out to property owners in the targeted area for possible expansion. On April 1, the City Council will hold a public meeting to discuss whether to remove the planned realignment of Railroad Avenue between Humphrey Drive and Olive Avenue. If approved, this change will take effect 30 days later.

Suisun City Police Department
On March 7, Suisun City Police Commander Daniel Healy attended the inaugural Larsen Justice Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology in the Administration of Justice. This event brought together experts from various fields to explore AI’s impact on criminal justice, focusing on civil rights, public safety, equity and systemic reform. Commander Healy, a member of the California Police Chiefs Association AI Sub-Committee, advocates for transparency and accountability in AI use for policing. We are proud to have Commander Healy represent Suisun City in these important discussions.
