Redwood City – The County of San Mateo, including its attorneys, did not post confidential court records related to the removal of Sheriff Christina Corpus on the San Mateo County Superior Court website. These records were publicly filed by counsel representing the sheriff.
Up to this point, the sheriff has asserted that documents related to the removal proceedings against her under Section 412.5 of the San Mateo County Charter are confidential. Given that claim, the County has, to date, not released these documents, which include the notice of intent to remove the sheriff, which documents an independent investigation by the law firm Keker, Van Nest & Peters; exhibits related to the notice of intent; a transcript of the pre-decisional conference before Chief Probation Officer John Keene; and, Chief Keene’s recommendation to proceed with the sheriff’s removal.
