The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors met in-person with remote public participation available via Zoom on Aug. 27, 2024. Supervisor Dave Pine was absent. Below are the results of selected items on the agenda:
PRESENTATIONS AND AWARDS
- Accept the 2023 San Mateo County Agricultural Crop Report prepared by the Agricultural Commissioner.
DISTRICT ATTORNEY
- Adopt a resolution accepting a grant award with the California Department of Industrial Relations for the Wage Theft Grant Program, for a term commencing August 1, 2024 through October 1, 2025 in an amount not to exceed $739,396.
GOVERNING BOARD
- Acting as the Governing Board of the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo, adopt a resolution authorizing:
- A) The Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo to loan in a not to exceed amount of $14,000,000 from available Midway Village reserve funds for the construction and permanent financing of Phase 2 of the Midway Village Redevelopment Project; and
- B) The Executive Director of the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo, or designee, in consultation with special legal counsel to the County and the County Attorney, to enter into and execute an agreement and promissory note to loan the HACSM’s Midway Village reserve funds for the construction and permanent financing of Phase 2 of the Midway Village Redevelopment Project.
COUNTY EXECUTIVE
- Adopt a resolution:
- A) Declaring the Board of Supervisors’ intent to purchase the real property described as 849 Mitten Road, 863 Mitten Road and 866 Malcolm Road, all located within the City of Burlingame, San Mateo County Assessor’s Parcel Numbers 024-403-380, 024-403-410 and 024-403-400, respectively, together with adjacent parking lots, Assessor’s Parcel Numbers, 026-301-310, 026-301-320 and 026-301-240, (“Property”), for the total purchase price of $24,500,000; and
- B) Authorizing the President of the Board of Supervisors to execute a Real Estate Purchase and Sale Agreement (“Agreement”) with the owners of the Property, ARE-819/863 Mitten Road, LLC (“Sellers”), for the County’s acquisition of the Property; and
- C) Authorizing the County Executive, or their designee, to execute a Certificate of Acceptance upon satisfaction of certain conditions in escrow, to be recorded with the Grant Deed, transferring title to the Property to the County, as well as any and all notices, escrow instructions, and documents required to facilitate the purposes of the Agreement.
