Changes are being made to the Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) Act – a law governing involuntary detention, treatment, and conservatorship of people with behavioral health conditions – that will impact individuals with severe substance use disorders. San Mateo County is in the process of soliciting input and collaboration through listening sessions. Due to demand, a third virtual listening session has been added.
