The County of San Mateo Jobs for Youth program is ecstatic to be honoring our 2024 JFY Al Teglia Scholars! The JFY Al Teglia Into the Beyond Scholar Celebration will be a memorable and impactful event as we return to the Crowne Plaza Foster City once again!
Thank you all for being a part of our journey and supporting our youth to go after their higher education dreams! Improving access to higher education is an equity project of considerable importance and increasing urgency, and we could not do it without the support of our community!
We invite you to join us in empowering our Into the Beyond scholars to launch into orbit and pursue their dreams!
Secure your seats and support our scholars! Limited tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis so we recommend grabbing your tickets ASAP!
The 2024 Al Teglia JFY Scholar Celebration will be from 8:00 AM- 9:30 AM at the Foster City Crowne Plaza. We recommend arriving between 7:30 AM to 7:45 AM to check-in, as breakfast will be promptly served at the event start time. Complimentary parking will be available onsite.
All of the ticket funds will go directly to a youth scholarship and your generous contribution is tax deductible. Join us as we celebrate our 2024 Into the Beyond Scholars!

While the past year has been full of obstacles in our San Mateo County community, our Into the Beyond Scholars have continued to lead with resiliency and hope. The 2024 scholars are empowered to make a difference in this world and transform into who they want to be.
Receiving the Jobs for Youth Al Teglia Scholarship is just one small speck of stardust in what these bright youth will do as they explore their interstellar future. We are in awe of their courage and impact within our community. Whatever they pursue will surely be of galactic measure!

EXPLO is a community of inventors, entrepreneurs, artists, engineers, and more. Since their founding at MIT in 1976, they’ve designed summer enrichment programs with immersive, boundary-pushing worlds for teens to explore. This summer, they’re offering these two-week experiences at UC Berkeley for rising grades 10 through 12:
Dive into psychology, forensic puzzles, and legal arguments with professional investigators, scientists, and attorneys.
Probe the intricacies of brain function, disorder, and treatment with scholars and researchers on the cutting edge.
Both programs offer residential and commuter student options, as well as college admissions coaching and campus tours of UC Berkeley, Stanford, and Santa Clara University. EXPLO also offers immersive pre-college programs in Boston, Oxford, and London.
