Progress Pride Flag-Raising at County Center

Join us for San Mateo County's Progress Pride Flag-Raising taking place on Wednesday, June 1st at 10:00am in the courtyard of County Center.

LGBTQ visibility is critical to members of our community feeling included in public spaces. This year we we celebrate our fifth flag-raising ceremony at County Center and will have Supervisor Carole Groom and members of the LGBTQ Commission, Pride Initiative and Pride Center to mark this special occasion.

Every year we invite all cities in San Mateo County to issue a Pride Proclamation and raise the Progress Pride Flag for the month of June. Most cities are joining in again. Call or email your city to learn about their plans for Pride!

Redwood City Flag-Raising & Mini-Pride

Redwood City is raising the Progress Pride Flag on Tuesday, May 31 at 5:30pm on Courthouse Square! There will be LGBTQ resources, Information Booths, a Photo Booth and a Rainbow cookie to the first 150 people!

San Mateo County Fair Pride Day

Celebrate unity at the 3rd Family Pride Day at the Fair with a full day of events and activities! Pride Day is taking place on Sunday, June 4 starting at 11:00am and the main stage is featuring Gloria Gaynor at 7:30pm!! Tickets are On Sale now so get the early bird rate while you can. 

STILL HERE STILL PROUD

San Mateo County Pride Celebration is producing their first in-person Pride Event in three years!! Join us for this free, sober, family-friendly, county-wide event on Saturday, June 11th from 11:00am-5:00pm at Central Park in the City of San Mateo. We will have live entertainment, live DJ, resource & vendor booths, youth activities and food trucks.

Annual LGBTQ Commission Update at the Board of Supervisors Meeting

Join the LGBTQ Commission as we present our annual report to the Board of Supervisors at the June 14th, 2022 meeting. The meeting starts at 9:00am. For more information and to join the meeting in-person or virtually, go to the Board of Supervisors meeting website.

COASTPRIDE

CoastPride is celebrating Pride in Half Moon Bay with a in-person Celebration on Saturday, June 18th from 2:00-6:00pm. This year's theme - Cool World - is a celebration of 80s music. Fancy Pants Costume and CoastPride will be bringing a fabulous and fun production which they hope to sell out like last year. Get your tickets now!!

The San Mateo County Pride Center will be celebrating its 5th year Anniversary on Thursday evening, June 30th, 6:00pm in a virtual event, inclusive for all. Mark your calendars now!

JUNETEENTH FLAG-RAISING

Intersectionality and visibility is critical for so many residents. That's why we want to promote that, for the first time, San Mateo County will be raising the Juneteenth Flag for the month of June! Please join Supervisors Carole Groom and Don Horsley to raise the Juneteenth flag with speakers and song, and kick-off a month of awareness and events around the holiday. The flag-raising will be Friday, June 3, starting at 9:00am at the Courtyard Flag Pole at County Center, Redwood City.
