  • Presentation: All in the Family: A Familial & Survivor-Centered Human Trafficking Case Study. Detective Chad Opitz, Beaverton Police Department, Beaverton, Oregon

Chad Opitz is currently a Detective with the Beaverton Police Department in Beaverton, Oregon and a Task Force Officer on the Portland FBI Child Exploitation Task Force. He is a twenty-two (22) year law enforcement officer and has been a detective for the last fifteen. Detective Opitz is also assigned as an Investigator to the Washington County Major Crimes Team. He has worked sex trafficking related crimes since 2008, with the focus on protecting minors. Detective Opitz is currently the primary investigator on all sex trafficking cases with the Beaverton Police Department.

The San Mateo County Human Trafficking Initiative (HTI) meetings occurs on the second Tuesday of each month, from 12:30pm-2:00pm, except for December. HTI meetings focus on the response to human trafficking within the County, along with delivering relevant information on all aspects of human trafficking.
