New Testing Partner Starts Up at Event Center This Week
Carbon Health, a San Francisco-based national health care provider, began operating a walk-up mass testing site at the Event Center Tuesday with PCR testing. The provider will be able to accommodate up to 2,000 tests per day. Patients can register here or walk up to the testing site. The testing site is open Tuesdays through Sundays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Event Center, 2701 S. Delaware St., San Mateo.

Alert Issued for Fake COVID Testing Sites, DA Offers Tips
The California Attorney General issued a statewide alert for consumers to beware of illegitimate COVID-19 testing sites. These sites may fail to provide test results and/or use the patients’ personal identifiable information to commit fraud. The San Mateo County District Attorney offers tips on how to identify fake testing sites and file a complaint for violations. Information on reporting price gouging of at-home COVID tests can also be found on the District Attorney's website here.

County Clerk Extends Hours for February Weddings
Love knows no bounds — and this February, will be met with a procession of new marriages at the County chapel. The San Mateo County Clerk’s Office extended its calendar hours on February 2 (02022022), 14 (Valentine's Day) and 22 (022222) to perform in-person civil ceremonies for couples wanting to marry on any of these special days. A marriage license is required for a wedding service. Ceremony reservations are also required, including the officiant for the ceremony.

County Parks to Present Dog Pilot to Planning Commission
The San Mateo County Parks Department is applying for a Coastal Development Permit to study off-leash dog access at Quarry Park and Pillar Point Bluff and will present the Off-Leash Dog Recreation Pilot Program to the Planning Commission on Feb. 9 at 9 a.m. The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors approved the pilot pending issuance of a Coastal Development Permit at its Nov. 9, 2021, meeting. The pilot program was developed by the Dog Work Group.

Vaccinations Available at Community-based Clinics
There is substantial vaccination capacity at multiple community-based clinics across San Mateo County to serve residents in addition to pharmacies and healthcare providers. See County-operated community clinic schedules here. In addition, booster and first- and second-doses are available at the walk-up Event Center clinic but due to low demand will be closing on Feb 9. Appointments via MyTurn are preferred, but participants may also come without an appointment.

Property Taxes Due April 11
Second installment of property taxes are due Monday, April 11, 2022. Tax bills can be accessed and paid online or in person at the main office in Redwood City or satellite offices in South San Francisco (opens Feb. 28-April 11) and Half Moon Bay (opens April 7-11). Find addresses and hours of operation here. The drive-thru tax payment mailbox, located off Winslow Street in Redwood City next to the County Center parking garage, is also open for depositing payments, but there are no receipts with this option.
