Save the Date: Tuesday, December 1
We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a deal-filled Black Friday if you participated. We spent the holiday filled with gratitude for all the people who make our work possible—including you. Thank you.
Whether you participated in Black Friday shopping, are planning on Cyber Monday shopping, or are ignoring all the purchasing madness, we hope you'll remember to participate in Giving Tuesday this coming week. Not sure what that is? Not sure how to join? Read on.
What is Giving Tuesday? Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Giving Tuesday strives to build a world in which the catalytic power of generosity is at the heart of the society we build together, unlocking dignity, opportunity, and equity around the globe.
Where will the money go? Every single dollar will fund a scholarship for a hardworking, talented youth in need. Jobs for Youth is fully sustained by the County of San Mateo, which means 100% of your donation goes directly to a Scholar. Our goal is to raise $1500—enough to fund one full scholarship.
How do we participate? Here's how you can get ready to give:
-
Mark your calendar. Add the Giving Tuesday event to your calendar! Giving will last all day on December 1.
-
Give. On December 1, go to https://jobsforyouth.org/support/ and donate.
-
Spread the word. Encourage your friends and family to join you in creating real impact on December 1 by sharing what our mission means to you and why you support our organization. Make sure to use hashtag #GivingTuesday and tag us so we can share!
Thank you for being part of our mission. Your support makes a world of difference!
