Dear Jobs for Youth Members,
Here we are, going into week eight of the shelter-in-place order, and you know what? You're doing a great job. We know that this situation is challenging, and we are all experiencing a wide-range of difficult experiences and emotions. No matter what you're going through right now, remember to give yourself a little grace, a little compassion, a little understanding. You are doing your best just like everyone else, and what you are doing is enough.
This month, like last month, we are sharing essential resiliency-building resources, with a few new additions. In this newsletter, you'll find:
- Jobs that you can apply for or share with anyone who needs work at this time
- Food, emergency, and immigration resources
- Mental health resources
- Volunteer opportunities that you can do from home
- Ways to stay engaged and keep learning while you shelter in place
And as always, we are here for you. If you need help writing a resume, applying to a job, or any thing at all (and we truly mean anything), reach out to us at jobsforyouth@smcgov.org. We will do our best to help you or will connect you to someone who can.
Keep staying safe. You've got this. We've got this.
In solidarity, Jobs for Youth

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
If you're looking for a way to help your community or to develop your skills during the pandemic, check out the following volunteer platforms.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Staying at home is still the best way to help others. If you are considering a volunteer opportunity, remember that the safety of yourself and those you live with comes first. It is safest to participate in a virtual volunteer opportunity that you can do from home. If you want to help in person, make sure that the organization has strong health and safety practices, wear a mask at all times, remember to keep 6 feet of distance from others at all times, wash your hands regularly, and do not touch your face.
